2021 Summer Registration Info.

posted by Miss Marie @ 11:24am, Tuesday 26 February 2019.

WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR??  Will be updated as restrictions lessen.

COVID 19 has altered our registration process a bit. To ensure that registration runs quickly, please send in your child’s registration form, health form and Colorado Certificate of Immunization or Certificate of Exemption by June 1, 2021.

If by the end of June, we are still under the current restrictions (Blue in Garfield County), the following changes will be in effect:

1. Parents/guardians will need to come to the camp office to receive a printed number for your position in the registration que.  The current que number will be displayed outside the office door. You, and your camper(s) will need to stay in your vehicle, or in a designated waiting area until your number is called. Cold water and snack items will be available to you while you wait.

2. You will then proceed to the registration area (Worship House). We may only be able to handle 2-3 families at a time in the registration area due to our limited internet access.

3. At the entrance of the Worship House you will be asked a series of screening questions and each person in your party will have their temperature taken and logged. You will then be directed to 1 of 2 tables where you will complete your registration.

4. Your camper(s) will then proceed to the Long House Nurse’s Quarters for a quick discussion with our nurse about any concerns she has regarding your child’s medical or dietary needs.

5. From the Nurse’s Quarters you and your camper(s) will be taking all their belongings to their assigned tepee. Your camper’s counselor(s) will escort you there.

6. Once at the tepee, your child will be instructed where to place their belongings.

7. At this point, you and your camper may go to the picnic area where you will be served supper, or you may leave.

8. If you stay for the cookout, the camp chief will conduct a parent/camper meeting with those assembled introducing any available staff and apprising parents and campers of the camp rules.

FYI: We have had a camp policy already in place for many years that any child with a temperature over 100° and/or vomiting or diarrhea will be sent home with the option to return once their temperature remains normal for 24 hours or the vomiting or diarrhea has stopped for 24 hours. All staff is aware of this and will be diligent to report any signs of illness. Every camper and staff member will also have their temperature taken each morning.

IMPORTANT: AFTER READING THE INFORMATION BELOW,

You may choose to register your camperon the Sign Up Tab above or you may DOWNLOAD  THE REGISTRATION FORM, And THE CAMPER HEALTH RECORD FORM FROM THE WEBSITE. In either case you WILL need to DOWNLOAD THE CAMPER HEALTH RECORD FORM. Link To Downloads Page

Teepee Bible Camp is a non-profit, non-denominational, Bible-based camp incorporated and licensed by the State of Colorado.

The camp's main goal is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to boys and girls in an outdoor camping environment, with specially planned activities including games, crafts, hiking, archery, obstacle course, campfires, music, and team sports. Special emphasis is placed on Bible teaching and Christian living.

Camps are 6 calendar days long (Sunday 5 p.m. to Friday 4 p.m.) except for the 2nd-4th grade camp which lasts 4 calendar days (Sunday 5 p.m. to Wednesday 4 p.m.). The camp required minimum age is 7 years old. Camps are divided by those entering the following grades in the fall: 2-4, 5-7, and 8-11.

Teepee Bible Camp is a ministry of faith. We will do what is necessary to see that each boy or girl wishing to have a camp experience has that opportunity. Our week camp price will remain as low as we can possibly keep it. This is done by using the generous gifts of others who have a heart for children's camping and ministry.

All potential campers who meet the camp required minimum age will be accepted regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, religion, or handicap. If you believe you have been discriminated against because of any of these, write to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:

The camp has a basic statement of faith which is available upon request, or on the website. It basically follows the Apostles' Creed and is Biblically sound. In keeping with our non-denominational status we do not teach the doctrine of any particular denomination. We feel these individual beliefs should be taught by the child's parent and local church.

HEALTH CONCERNS:

State health regulations require that no child go barefoot. We are required to have a medical person on the camp grounds 24 hours a day for any event lasting 72 hours or more. Please understand that all prescription and over-the-counter medications sent with your child must be in its original packaging with the child's name on it and must be turned over to our medical person upon arrival at the camp. Our medical staff will administer your child's medication. If your child has an inhaler that they need to keep with them, it must be accompanied by written parental consent and authorization of the prescribing practitioner and all must be shown to the medical staff upon arrival at camp. We are covered by liability accident and limited medical insurance for campers who DO NOT have an insurance plan.

LEAVING EARLY:

Should an emergency arise or you have prior plans and need to take your child home from camp any time before the final evening, you must call the camp office as soon as possible to make arrangements with the Camp Director. This must be done for your child's safety. Any child leaving early will pay the full week's fee. Parents or guardians please note: Phone calls from the camp by campers at any time during the week will be for emergency reasons only. Any disregard for camp regulations will be cause for dismissal from camp.

CAMPERS INVOLVED IN ORGANIZED SPORTS:

If your child is enrolled in a summer sports activity in Garfield County that requires attendance at games, we encourage them to still come to camp. We have a very flexible program that allows parents from the surrounding area to pick campers up in time to get them to their game and then return them before lights out.

TRADING POST (Camp Store):

Each child should bring the following minimum amount of money (in addition to their camp fee) to visit the Trading Post:

2nd-4th graders~$3.00                                       5th-11th graders ~$5.00

This will entitle them to one food item and one drink item per day that the Trading Post is open. This amount is to be paid upon arrival at camp. If the child does not visit the Trading Post on any given day, the remaining money will be given to the missions’ project. If a child wishes to purchase any non-food products i.e. hats, stuffed animals, pens, stamps, etc., their parent must place an additional deposit in their account upon arrival at camp to cover these purchases. The child may make purchases of non-food items only from this balance and any remaining non-food balance at the end of camp may either be given to the missions’ project or returned to the parent upon pick-up.
