SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
We do NOT give out scholarships for winter camps and teen retreats, however your local church may have a scholarship program in place to help with camp fees, so check with them.
Deadline to request a scholarship- May 15th
Scholarships will consist of 50% of the regular camper fee. The pre-registration fee is not part of the scholarship.
Requirements: The parent or guardian must qualify for the earned income credit on the previous year's taxes or be able to show proof of current hardship - medical bills, participation in a public school free and reduced lunch program etc. Or do one of the following:
1. Work at a camp workday. See the calendar for dates.
2. Work at your local church's work day and mail a signed note from your pastor that you attended.
3. Participate in a Bible memorization program at your local church and mail in a signed note from your Sunday School teacher, Children's church leader, Awana's or Caravan Director, or Pastor listing the verses you memorized.
4. Complete one of the following Bible projects:
Age 7-4th Graders:
a. Create a crossword or word search using clues from one Bible Story, include chapter or chapters and verses where the story is found.
b. Create a collage of a Bible Story and write out the story in your own words, be sure to include the chapter or chapters and verses where the story is found. (Parents can help 2nd graders with the written part.)
5th-7th Graders:
a. Create a crossword or word search using clues from one Bible Story. Must be at least 20 clues and words and must include the chapter and verse where each clue or word is found, include what you learned from the story.
b. Re-tell in your own words (250-500 words) a Bible Story. Include chapters and verses. Include what lesson or lessons you learned from the story.
c. Create a collage of a Bible Story and write out the story in your own words (250-500 words) be sure to include the chapter or chapters and verses where the story is found.
8th-10th Graders:
Use a. under 5th-7th graders, you must have 30 or more clues and words, include what you learned from the story.
Use b. under 5th-7th graders, you must have 750-1000 words and include what you learned from the story.
Finally: Send in proof of need and/or your project to the address below no later than June 1st. Your scholarship certificate will be mailed to you so you can bring it to camp when you register.
